My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous."
Aey meray rab! Mujhay nek bakht aulad ata farma.
ऐ मेरे रब! मुझे कोई नेक संतान प्रदान कर।"
So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy.
To hum ney ussay aik burd-baar bachay ki bisharat di.
तो हम ने उसे एक सहनशील पुत्र की शुभ सूचना दी
And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast."
Phir jab woh ( bacha ) itni umar ko phoncha kay uss kay sath chalay phiray to uss ( ibrahim alh-e-salam ) ney kaha meray piyaray bachay! Mein khuwab mein apnay aap ko tujhay zibah kertay huyey dekh raha hun. Abb tu bata kay teri kiya raye hai? Betay ney jawab diya kay abba! Jo hukum hua hai ussay baja layiye inshaAllah aap mujhay sabar kerney walon mein say payen gay.
फिर जब वह उस के साथ दौड़-धूप करने की अवस्था को पहुँचा तो उस ने कहा, "ऐ मेरे प्रिय बेटे! मैं स्वप्न में देखता हूँ कि तुझे क़ुरबान कर रहा हूँ। तो अब देख, तेरा क्या विचार है?" उस ने कहा, "ऐ मेरे बाप! जो कुछ आप को आदेश दिया जा रहा है उसे कर डालिए। अल्लाह ने चाहा तो आप मुझे धैर्यवान पाएँगे।"
And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead,
Gharz jab dono mutee hogaye aur uss ney ( baap ney ) uss ko ( betay ko ) paishaani kay bal gira diya.
अन्ततः जब दोनों ने अपने आप को (अल्लाह के आगे) झुका दिया और उस ने (इबाराहीम ने) उसे कनपटी के बल लिटा दिया (तो उस समय क्या दृश्य रहा होगा, सोचो!)
We called to him, "O Abraham,
To hum ney aawaz di kay aey ibrahim!.
और हम ने उसे पुकारा, "ऐ इबराहीम!
You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
Yaqeenan tu ney apna khuwab sacha ker dikhaya be-shak hum neki kerney walon ko issi tarah jaza detay hain.
तूने स्वप्न को सच कर दिखाया। निस्संदेह हम उत्तमकारों को इसी प्रकार बदला देते हैं।"
Indeed, this was the clear trial.
Dar-haqeeqat yeh khulla imtehan tha.
निस्संदेह यह तो एक खुली हूई परीक्षा थी
And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice,
Aur hum ney aik bara zabeeha iss kay fidyey mein dey diya.
और हम ने उसे (बेटे को) एक बड़ी क़ुरबानी के बदले में छुड़ा लिया
And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:
Aur hum ney unn ka zikar-e-khair pichlon mein baqi rakha.
और हम ने पीछे आने वाली नस्लों में उस का अच्छा ज़िक्र छोड़ा,
"Peace upon Abraham."
Ibrahim ( alh-e-salam ) per salam ho.
कि "सलाम है इबराहीम पर।"
Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
Hum neko karon ko issi tarah badla detay hain.
उत्तमकारों को हम ऐसा ही बदला देते हैं
Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.
Be-shak woh humaray eman daar bandon mein say tha.
निश्चय ही वह हमारे ईमान वाले बन्दों में से था
And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous.
Aur hum ney uss ko ishaq ( alh-e-salam ) nabi ki bisharat di jo saleh logon mein say hoga.
और हम ने उसे इसहाक़ की शुभ सूचना दी, अच्छों में से एक नबी
And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself.
Aur hum ney ibrahim-o-ishaq ( al-e-heem-us-salam ) per barkaten nazil farmaeen aur inn dono ki aulad mein baazay to nek bakht hain aur baaz apnay nafs per sareeh zulm kerney walay hain.
और हम ने उसे और इसहाक़ को बरकत दी। और उन दोनों की संतति में कोई तो उत्तमकार है और कोई अपने आप पर खुला ज़ुल्म करने वाला
And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron.
Yaqeenan hum ney musa aur haroon ( al-e-heem-us-salam ) per bara ehsan kiya.
और हम मूसा और हारून पर भी उपकार कर चुके हैं
And We saved them and their people from the great affliction,
Aur unhen aur unn ki qom ko baray dukh dard say nijat dey di.
और हम ने उन्हें और उन की क़ौम को बड़ी घुटन और बेचैनी से छुटकारा दिया
And We supported them so it was they who overcame.
Aur unn ki madad ki to wohi ghalib rahey.
हम ने उन की सहायता की, तो वही प्रभावी रहे
And We gave them the explicit Scripture,
Aur hum ney unhen ( wazeh aur ) roshan kitab di.
हम ने उन को अत्यन्त स्पष्टा किताब प्रदान की।
And We guided them on the straight path.
Aur unhen seedhay rastay per qaeem rakha.
और उन्हें सीधा मार्ग दिखाया
And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations:
Aur hum ney unn dono kay liye peechay aanay walon mein yeh baat baqi rakhi.
और हम ने पीछे आने वाली नस्लों में उस का अच्छा ज़िक्र छोड़ा
"Peace upon Moses and Aaron."
Kay musa aur haroon ( al-e-heem-us-salam ) per salam ho.
कि "सलाम है मूसा और हारून पर!"
Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
Be-shak hum nek logon ko issi tarah badlay diya kertay hain.
निस्संदेह हम उत्तमकारों को ऐसा बदला देते हैं
Indeed, they were of Our believing servants.
Yaqeenan yeh dono humaray momin bandon mein say thay.
निश्चय ही वे दोनों हमारे ईमान वाले बन्दों में से थे
And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers,
Be-shak ilyas ( alh-e-salam ) bhi payghumbaron mein say thay.
और निस्संदेह इलयास भी रसूलों में से था।
When he said to his people, "Will you not fear Allah ?
Jabkay unhon ney apni qom say farmaya kay tum Allah say dartay nahi ho?
याद करो, जब उस ने अपनी क़ौम के लोगों से कहा, "क्या तुम डर नहीं रखते?
Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators -
Kiya tum ba’al ( naami butt ) ko pukartay ho? Aur sabb say behtar khaliq ko chor detay ho?
क्या तुम 'बअल' (देवता) को पुकारते हो और सर्वोत्तम सृष्टा को छोड़ देते हो;
Allah , your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?"
Allah jo tumhara aur tumharay aglay tamam baap dadon ka rab hai.
अपने रब और अपने अगले बाप-दादा के रब, अल्लाह को!"
And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment],
Lekin qom ney unhen jhutlaya pus woh zaroor ( azab mein ) hazir rakhay jayen gay.
किन्तु उन्होंने उसे झुठला दिया। सो वे निश्चय ही पकड़कर हाज़िर किए जाएँगे
Except the chosen servants of Allah .
Siwaye Allah Taalaa kay mukhlis bandon kay.
अल्लाह के बन्दों की बात और है, जिन को उस ने चुन लिया है
And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:
Hum ney ( ilyas alh-e-salam ) ka zikar-e-khair pichlon mein bhi baqi rakha.
और हम ने पीछे आने वाली नस्लों में उस का अच्छा ज़िक्र छोड़ा
"Peace upon Elias."
Kay ilyas per salam ho.
कि "सलाम है इलयास पर!"
Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
Hum neki kerney walon ko issi tarah badla detay hain.
निस्संदेह हम उत्तमकारों को ऐसा ही बदला देते हैं
Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.
Be-shak woh humaray eman daar bandon mein say tha.
निश्चय ही वह हमारे ईमान वाले बन्दों में से था
And indeed, Lot was among the messengers.
Be-shak loot ( alh-e-salam bhi ) payghumbaron mein say thay.
और निश्चय ही लूत भी रसूलों में से था
[So mention] when We saved him and his family, all,
Hum ney unhen aur unn kay ghar walon sab ko nijat di.
याद करो, जब हम ने उसे और उस के सभी लोगों को बचा लिया,
Except his wife among those who remained [with the evildoers].
Ba-juz uss burhiya kay jo peechay reh janey walon mein reh gaee.
सिवाय एक बुढ़िया के, जो पीछे रह जाने वालों में से थी
Then We destroyed the others.
Phir hum ney auron ko halak ker diya.
फिर दूसरों को हम ने तहस-नहस करके रख दिया
And indeed, you pass by them in the morning
Aur tum to subha honey per unn ki bastiyon kay pass say guzartay ho.
और निस्संदेह तुम उन पर (उन के क्षेत्र) से गुज़रते हो कभी प्रातः करते हुए
And at night. Then will you not use reason?
Aur raat ko bhi kiya phir bhi nahi samajhtay?
और रात में भी। तो क्या तुम बुद्धि से काम नहीं लेते?
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers.
Aur bila-shuba younus ( alh-e-salam ) nabiyon mein say thay.
और निस्संदेह यूनुस भी रसूलो में से था
[Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship.
Jab bhag ker phonchay bhari kashti per.
याद करो, जब वह भरी नौका की ओर भाग निकला,
And he drew lots and was among the losers.
Phir qura-andazi hui to maghloob hogaye.
फिर पर्ची डालने में शामिल हुआ और उस में मात खाई
Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy.
To phir unhen machli ney nigal liya aur woh khud apnay aap ko malamat kerney lag gaye.
फिर उसे मछली ने निगल लिया और वह निन्दनीय दशा में ग्रस्त हो गया था।
And had he not been of those who exalt Allah ,
Pus agar yeh paki biyan kerney walon mein say na hotay.
अब यदि वह तसबीह करने वाला न होता
He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected.
To logon kay uthaye janey kay din tak uss kay pet mein hi rehtay.
तो उसी के भीतर उस दिन तक पड़ा रह जाता, जबकि लोग उठाए जाएँगे।
But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill.
Pus unhen hum ney chatyal medan mein daal diya aur woh uss waqt beemar thay.
अन्ततः हम ने उसे इस दशा में कि वह निढ़ाल था, साफ़ मैदान में डाल दिया।
And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine.
Aur unn per saya kerney wala aik bel daar darakht hum ney uga diya.
हम ने उस पर बेलदार वृक्ष उगाया था
And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more.
Aur hum ney unhen aik lakh bulkay aur ziyadah aadmiyon ki taraf bheja.
और हम ने उसे एक लाख या उस से अधिक (लोगों) की ओर भेजा
And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time.
Pus woh eman laye aur hum ney unhen aik zamaney tak aish-o-ishrat di.
फिर वे ईमान लाए तो हम ने उन्हें एक अवधि तक सुख भोगने का अवसर दिया।
So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons?
Inn say daryaft kijiye! Kay kiya aap kay rab ki to betiyan hain aur inn kay betay hain?
अब उन से पूछो, "क्या तुम्हारे रब के लिए तो बेटियाँ हों और उन के अपने लिए बेटे?
