And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.
( jannati ) aik doosray ki taraf rukh kerkay poochen gay.
फिर वे एक-दूसरे की ओर रुख़ करके आपस में पूछेंगे
A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth]
Unn mein say aik kehney wala kahe ga mera aik sathi tha.
उन में से एक कहने वाला कहेगा, "मेरा एक साथी था;
Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe
Jo ( mujh say ) kaha kerta tha kay kiya tu ( qayamat kay aaney ka ) yaqeen kerney walon mein say hai?
जो कहा करता था क्या तुम भी पुष्टि करने वालों में से हो?
That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'"
Kiya jab kay hum mar ker mitti aur haddi hojayen gay kiya uss waqt hum jaza diyey janey walay hain?
क्या जब हम मर चुके होंगे और मिट्टी और हड्डियाँ होकर रह जाएँगे, तो क्या हम वास्तव में बदला पाएँगे?"
He will say, "Would you [care to] look?"
Kahey ga tum chahtay ho kay jhaank ker dekh lo?
वह कहेगा, "क्या तुम झाँककर देखोगे?"
And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire.
Jhaanktay hi ussay beechon beech jahannum mein ( jalta hua ) dekhay ga.
फिर वह झाँकेगा तो उसे भड़कती हुई आग के बीच में देखेगा
He will say, "By Allah , you almost ruined me.
Kahey ga Wallah! Qareeb tha kay tu mujhay ( bhi ) barbaad ker day.
कहेगा, "अल्लाह की क़सम! तुम तो मुझे तबाह ही करने को थे
If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell].
Agar meray rab ka ehsan na hota to mein bhi dizakh mein hazir kiyey janey walon mein hota.
यदि मेरे रब की अनुकम्पा न होती तो अवश्य ही मैं भी पकड़कर हाज़िर किए गए लोगों में से होता
Then, are we not to die
Kiya ( yeh sahih hai ) kay hum marney walay hi nahi?
है ना अब ऐसा कि हम मरने के नहीं।
Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?"
Ba-juz pehli aik mot kay aur na hum azab kiyey janey walay hain.
हमें जो मृत्यु आनी थी वह बस पहले आ चुकी। और हमें कोई यातना ही दी जाएगी!"
Indeed, this is the great attainment.
Phir to ( zahir baat hai kay ) yeh bari kaamyabi hai.
निश्चय ही यही बड़ी सफलता है
For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work.
Aisi ( kaamyabi ) kay liye amal kernay walon ko amal kerna chahayey.
ऐसी की चीज़ के लिए कर्म करने वालों को कर्म करना चाहिए
Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum?
Kiya yeh mehmaani achi hai ya seendh ( zaqoom ) ka darakht?
क्या वह आतिथ्य अच्छा है या 'ज़क़्क़ूम' का वृक्ष?
Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers.
Jissay hum ney zalimon kay liye sakht aazmaeesh bana rakha hai.
निश्चय ही हम ने उस (वृक्ष) को ज़ालिमों के लिए परीक्षा बना दिया है
Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire,
Be-shak woh darakht jahannum ki jarr mein say nikalta hai.
वह एक वृक्ष है जो भड़कती हुई आग की तह से निकलता है
Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils.
Jiss kay khoshay shetan kay siron jesay hotay hain.
उस के गाभे मानो शैतानों के सिर (साँपों के फन) हैं
And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies.
( jahannumi ) issi darakht mein say khayen gay aur issi say pet bharen gay.
तो वे उसे खाएँगे और उसी से पेट भरेंगे
Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water.
Phir iss per garum jaltay jaltay paani ki malooni hogi.
फिर उन के लिए उस पर खौलते हुए पानी का मिश्रण होगा
Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire.
Phir inn sab ka lotna jahannum ki ( aag kay dher ki ) taraf hoga.
फिर उन की वापसी भड़कती हुई आग की ओर होगी
Indeed they found their fathers astray.
Yaqeen mano! Kay enhon ney apnay baap dadon ko behka hua paya.
निश्चय ही उन्होंने अपने बाप-दादा को पथभ्रष्ट पाया।
So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps.
Aur yeh unhi kay naqsh-e-qadam per dortay rahey.
फिर वे उन्हीं के पद-चिन्हों पर दौड़ते रहे
And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples,
Inn say pehlay bhi boht say aglay behak chukay hain.
और उन से पहले भी पूर्ववर्ती लोगों में अधिकांश पथभ्रष्ट हो चुके हैं,
And We had already sent among them warners.
Jinn mein hum ney daraney walay ( rasool ) bhejay thay.
हम ने उन में सचेत करने वाले भेजे थे।
Then look how was the end of those who were warned -
Abb tu dekh ley jinhen dhamkaya gaya tha unn ka anjam kaisa kuch hua.
तो अब देख लो उन लोगों का कैसा परिणाम हुआ, जिन्हे सचेत किया गया था
But not the chosen servants of Allah .
Siwaye Allah kay bargazeedah bandon kay.
अलबत्ता अल्लाह के बन्दों की बात और है, जिन को उस ने चुन लिया है
And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders.
Aur humen nooh ( alh-e-salam ) ney pukara to ( dekhlo ) hum kaisay achay dua qabool kerney walay hain.
नूह ने हम को पुकारा था, तो हम कैसे अच्छे हैं निवेदन स्वीकार करने वाले!
And We saved him and his family from the great affliction.
Hum ney ussay aur uss kay ghar walon ko uss zabardast museebat say bacha liya.
हम ने उसे और उस के लोगों को बड़ी घुटन और बेचैनी से छुटकारा दिया
And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth]
Aur uss ki aulad ko hum ney baqi rehney wali bana di.
और हम ने उस की संतति (औलाद व अनुयायी) ही को बाक़ी रखा
And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:
Aur hum ney uss ka ( zikar-e-khair ) pichlon mein baqi rakha.
और हम ने पीछे आने वाली नस्लों में उस का अच्छा ज़िक्र छोड़ा
"Peace upon Noah among the worlds."
Nooh ( alh-e-salam ) per tamam jahano mein salam ho.
कि "सलाम है नूह पर सम्पूर्ण संसार वालों में!"
Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
Hum neki kerney walon ko issi tarah badlay detay hain.
निस्संदेह हम उत्तमकारों को ऐसा बदला देते हैं
Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.
Woh humaray eman daar bandon mein say tha.
निश्चय ही वह हमारे ईमान वाले बन्दों में से था
Then We drowned the disbelievers.
Phir hum ney doosron ko dobo diya.
फिर हम ने दूसरो को डूबो दिया।
And indeed, among his kind was Abraham,
Aur uss ( nooh alh-e-salam ki ) tabeydaari kerney walon mein say ( hi ) ibrahim ( alh-e-salam bhi ) thay.
और इबराहीम भी उसी के सहधर्मियों में से था।
When he came to his Lord with a sound heart
Jabkay apany rab kay pass bey-aib dil laye.
याद करो, जब वह अपने रब के समक्ष भला-चंगा हृदय लेकर आया;
[And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?
Unhon ney apnay baap aur apni qom say kaha kay tum kiya pooj rahey ho?
जबकि उस ने अपने बाप और अपनी क़ौम के लोगों से कहा, "तुम किस चीज़ की पूजा करते हो?
Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire?
Kiya tum Allah kay siwa gharay huyey maboob chahtay ho?
क्या अल्लाह से हटकर मनघड़ंत उपास्यों को चाह रहे हो?
Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?"
To yeh ( batlao kay ) tum ney rab-ul-aalameen ko kiya samjh rakha hai?
आख़िर सारे संसार के रब के विषय में तुम्हारा क्या गुमान है?"
And he cast a look at the stars
Abb ibrahim ( alh-e-salam ) ney aik nigah sitaron ki taraf uthaee.
फिर उस ने एक दृष्टि तारों पर डाली
And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill."
Aur kaha mein to beemar hun.
और कहा, "मैं तो निढाल हूँ।"
So they turned away from him, departing.
Iss per woh sab uss say mun moray huyey wapis chalay gaye.
अतएव वे उसे छोड़कर चले गए पीठ फेरकर
Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat?
Aap ( chup chupatay ) unn kay maboodon kay pass gaye aur farmaney lagay tum khatay kiyon nahi?
फिर वह आँख बचाकर उन के देवताओं की ओर गया और कहा, "क्या तुम खाते नहीं?
What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?"
Tumhen kiya hogaya kay baat tak nahi kertay.
तुम्हें क्या हुआ है कि तुम बोलते नहीं?"
And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand.
Phir to ( poori qooat kay sath ) dayen hath say unhen maarney per pal paray.
फिर वह भरपूर हाथ मारते हुए उन पर पिल पड़ा
Then the people came toward him, hastening.
Woh ( butt parast ) doray bhagay aap ki taraf mutawajja huyey.
फिर वे लोग झपटते हुए उस की ओर आए
He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve,
To aap ney farmaya tum enhen poojtay ho jinhen ( khud ) tum tarashtay ho.
उस ने कहा, "क्या तुम उन को पूजते हो, जिन्हें स्वयं तराशते हो,
While Allah created you and that which you do?"
Halankay tumhen aur tumhari banaee hui cheezon ko Allah hi ney peda kiya hai.
जबकि अल्लाह ने तुम्हे भी पैदा किया है और उन को भी, जिन्हें तुम बनाते हो?"
They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire."
Woh kehney lagay iss kay liye aik makan banao aur iss ( dekakti hui ) aag mein issay daal do.
वे बोले, "उन के लिए एक मकान (अर्थात अग्नि-कुंड) तैयार करके उसे भड़कती आग में डाल दो!"
And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased.
Unhon ney to iss ( ibrahim alh-e-salam ) kay sath makar kerna chaha lekin hum ney unhi ko neecha ker diya.
अतः उन्होंने उस के साथ एक चाल चलनी चाही, किन्तु हम ने उन्हीं को नीचा दिखा दिया
And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me.
Aur uss ( ibrahim alh-e-salam ) ney kaha mein to hijrat kerkay apnay perwerdigar ki taraf janey wala hun. Woh zaroor meri rehnumaee keray ga.
उस ने कहा, "मैं अपने रब की ओर जा रहा हूँ, वह मेरा मार्गदर्शन करेगा
